First Post and Mission Statement

by admin on April 13, 2009

During the development and production of the PhotoWebGuide.com* I am looking at a lot of fine photography related sites. In fact as of today (on 4-13-2009) I have looked at over 1700 websites. I am amazed at the quality and diversity of sites and would like to point out and report on a few of the best here in the new Blog about PhotoWebGuide.com .

The mission statement for the PhotoWebGuide.com Blog:
The mission of the PhotoWebGuide.com Blog is to share with photography enthusiasts worldwide interesting, remarkable and noteworthy websites and events related to photography in the present, the past and the future. I am open to sites that cover offline events such as gallery openings or photography exhibits. We are not trying to cover everything about photography but we are going to show and share wonderful information and resources about photography.

The website is written in English and all correspondence needs to be in English as well. This is because I only know this language. I have already seen many other fine looking sites that I cannot read, I am sorry to say. Therefore look at this request as one caused by my lack of language skills.

As an example most of you know photography was invented in France around 1826. I have viewed several fine sites in French and other languages but they are not covered here. By the way the first permanent photograph was made by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in France and is in the collection at Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center in Austin, Texas, USA and their site is in English.

We are glad you are here and hope you find beneficial information on our sites. Tell your friends and colleagues about us. We would love to see them on line also.

*PhotoWebGuide.com is all about information, reference, resources and free downloads. The PhotoWebGuide.com (PWG) is your starting hub to explore and discover the photography world.™
