When the blog started I was excited about all the new websites that the PhotoWebGuide.com was finding and the quality and coverage of many of them. Well writing this post 30 days later I am still feeling the same way. The biggest discovery is the sense of the journey taking place as more amazing websites are found and shared with the readers of this blog.
The journey is gaining momentum as each new website is found that adds to the world of photography. I really did not know how big the photography world was on the web back in July 2008 when the PWG was started. I thought it was big but not this big. It is really huge!
Here is what I know so far because of the work and development being done on the directory inside PhotoWebGuide.com . The total URLs in the database is 74,481 and there are 32,462 left to look over. There are 1,878 websites that are good candidates to be added to the final directory that you can see over at PWG. The current total website count is always at the top of all the directory pages that make up the PWG. It looks like this: 1180 Distinct Links.
Who knows how much bigger it will get? We will continue adding more as fast as we can. I will try to find some stats about the amount of websites that cover photography in some focused and meaningful way.
The PhotoWebGuide.com will continue adding quality websites to its listings and I will continue pointing out the best websites and events relating to photography here in the PhotoWebGuide.com Blog.
