I was in a frame shop last week and there is a new special type of glass that makes reflections almost a thing of the past. No not the older non-glare glass but the new coated glass very similar to the coating used on most camera lenses. It is an anti-reflective coating that truly makes a big difference. The frame shop display was made using a normal glass sheet and a new anti-reflective coated glass so you could see the different it makes. Most of the time I could not get a reflection no matter how I turned the framed work to get different angles of light to strike the glass surface.
The high level of light transmission of anti-reflective coating provides an unmatched level of clarity and a nearly invisible and distortion-free piece of glass, allowing the vibrant colors of your print to shine through. There is also a new anti-reflective plus UV protection glass that in addition to providing the same anti-reflective qualities of the anti-reflective coated glass, blocks 97% of the Ultraviolet light. You will find several names for this special glass one being Museum Glass. Unfortunately the new glass is much higher in price than older plan glass.
There may be other makers of this new glass but I only know about this brand Tru Vue website.
