Possibly the best reference on the care, storage and display of color photographs in all forms is the book published in 1993. The book is not light reading but it does cover the field of archival framing, print conservation, archival matting, storage of photographs, color slides and much more.

I first learned of Henry Wilhelm back in 1974 when he was making the first archival print and film washers for East Street Gallery. He also published a booklet Procedures for processing and storing black and white photographs for maximum possible permanence. I think I still have the booklet somewhere. I remember wanting one of his print washers but I could not afford it back in 1974. When I was ready to buy one I don’t think he was still making them. I purchase another brand in a 16X20 size.
